P06                                     This spacious 180sqm apartment in the heart of Berlin-Wilmersdorf has been fully renovated to become a family friendly home for a family of five. The floorplan has been converted from four rooms into seven functional areas, including an additional bathroom. For the three children's rooms, the goal was to take advantage of the high ceilings and make most of the space by creating storage, cozy hideaways and a spacious play area. In order to achieve this goal mezzanines were planned to expand the space; they can be accessed through a wooden staircase that also serves as a closet. The additional bathroom had to be planned to be inward facing but was cleverly equipped with natural light. Another highlight of the apartment is the inviting red hallway that stands out from the rest of the color scheme. It offers storage space, access to other rooms, and has integrated room for the washing machine and dryer. The sleeping, living, and working areas provide warm and quiet retreats. The center of the apartment is the kitchen and dining area. With an elegant kitchen island and high kitchen tower, the size of the room has been emphasized.
